The Five Dimensions
What we measure and why
What it measures
Market size and demand signals
Data sources
- Keyword search volume (DataForSEO)
- Google Trends velocity
- Reddit & YouTube mention frequency
How it scores
Log-scale curve based on search volume — higher volume = higher opportunity.
We use real search data, not estimates. Every keyword is verified.
What it measures
How acute the pain is for the target audience
Data sources
- Reddit comment engagement depth
- Pain point intensity analysis
- Community frustration signals
How it scores
Social engagement DEPTH (not just mentions) — longer threads with more replies = more intense problems.
A niche with 10 passionate Reddit threads beats one with 1,000 casual mentions.
What it measures
Can a solo developer actually build and ship this?
Data sources
- Competition density
- Domain authority of competitors
- Technical complexity assessment
How it scores
Inverse competition scoring — fewer and weaker competitors = higher feasibility.
This is weighted heaviest because the best idea means nothing if you can't execute it.
What it measures
Is now the right time to enter this market?
Data sources
- Google Trends trajectory
- Year-over-year growth
- Seasonal patterns
How it scores
Growth velocity — rising trends score higher than stable or declining ones.
We detect 'about to boom' niches months before they're obvious.
What it measures
How easy is it to reach your first customers?
Data sources
- Social media presence across 8+ platforms
- Community accessibility
- Content creator activity
How it scores
Platform diversity and audience reachability — more channels = easier GTM.
Great products fail without distribution. We score that separately.

Validation threshold
Deliberately strict scoring
Only about 1% of niches score 65 or above. That’s by design. Most scoring systems suffer from grade inflation — everything looks “good” so nothing is actually useful. We calibrated our weights and base scores so that a VALIDATED niche genuinely stands out from the noise.
When we say a niche is validated, we mean it.
Data Sources
11+ platforms, one score
Every niche is analyzed against real-time data from across the internet. No guessing, no surveys, no vibes.
